PROJECT Brief

In 2023 TWU Fitness and Recreation partnered with the Health and Wellbeing Initiative (HWI) to create a 7-week physical wellness program called TWU Moves. Participants would be able to track their fitness and wellness activity through the TWU Moves Scorecard to earn points and win prizes.

The program wanted to utilize the TWU mascot, Oakley in the promotional materials and convey the sense of movement through their branding.

BRANDING

Initially the client wanted a set of stickers to promote the upcoming event. Our first step was to create thumbnails for the stickers. These wordmarks needed to convey movement and stand alone from the marketing designs. Of the 40 initial designs, the client choose three to flesh out for final approval.

The approved sticker wordmark was used for the 2023 TWU Moves campaign. We used one of our previously rejected wordmarks for the 2024 marketing. For the 2024 event, the client requested including the TWU mascot, Oakley exercising. These elements created cohesion accross the various marketing materials.

Illustration

It is always fun to have the time to create an original illustration for a campaign. Oakley has a distinctive look that must be reflected in the illustration including the four wings on their arm and the claws protruding from their shoes. Initial sketches were created for the client. Once approved we took those sketches into Adobe Illustrator to create the final illustration

DELIVERABLES

Both print and digital pieces were needed for this project. These included quarter flyers, various social media images, a digital kiosk slide and a web banner.

In addition to the usual pieces of print and digital designs required for thsi project, the client requested a digital form for participants to use. The initial design was created in InDesign and saved out to a PDF. In Adobe Acrobat we created theradio buttons and 160 form fields formatted for the various inputs (dates, times, text and numbers.) As participants fill out their activities and the associated points the form automatically calculates their total.
